environmental TRIGGERS OF DEMENTIA
Challenge
For my final major project at university, I wanted to research dementia but without having the personal connection to knowing someone who is suffering from this illness. I wanted to look at the different types of dementia and understand the environmental triggers to use this to help raise awareness of things that could make living with dementia harder for a person without society knowing about the little things that get missed.

Goal
Demonstrate and explain the early signs of this disease through a range of visual and textured materials, helping the viewer to empathise with their experience. Creating an unbound book which could show there was no order to the book so the audience will have a different experience each time depending on how the pervious person put it back in the box, this was to show each person's triggers are different and they all experience them in different ways.

Solution
The final design was an unbound book that included wooden bookmarks telling stories of people suffering from dementia. A little book informing someone of the environmental triggers of dementia. Pages on the trigger topics (screen print, etched, and printed techniques) and acrylic etched lines spread.

Includes:
6 wooden bookmarks telling stories of people suffering from dementia.
1 little book informing someone of the environmental triggers of dementia.
30 pages on the trigger topics (screen print, etched, and printed techniques)
4 acrylic etched lines spread.
